Meet Warren Vieira, Senior Manager, Research Platforms Manager
What do you do at ProPharma? How does your role support improving the health and safety of patients?
Data is one of the most valuable assets to a life science organization, it determines the developmental and manufacturing trajectory and the efficiency and safety of a therapeutic. Therefore, having access to and utility of data in real time enables decision making that quickens the progression of a therapeutic to milestones and, ultimately, patients. Given this importance of data, I am invested in helping organizations establish, sustain, and continually improve their research data management systems. At ProPharma I manage a team of technology savvy consultants, which work holistically with our clients to implement and/or provide on-going support and maintenance for an array of R&D research platforms.
What is one lesson you’ve learned in this industry that has most helped you?
Listen first. This seemingly simply act helps me to connect with and better understand the clients I work with. I am invested in the success of my clients; and by listening first, and truly understanding their needs and challenges, I can be a better partner to them.
What do you like best about working with clients?
ProPharma supports a diverse array of organizations in the life science space, all of which are striving to revolutionize the health and safety of humanity. It is not only humbling to work with such driven and healing-focused individuals and organizations, but being exposed to and learning about the innovative research that our clients are developing is one of the best parts of my day.
Tell us a little bit about yourself outside of work.
I see education and mentorship as powerful forces to instigate positive change and individual empowerment. As a result, I am active outside of ProPharma in educational programs, focused on bringing knowledge, training, and mentorship to the STEM community, with a specific focus on underrepresentation minorities.
