Meet Ana Ming, Senior Medical Information Lead

What do you like best about working with clients?

As a medical information lead, I am grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with industry experts. Staying up-to-date with the latest medical advancements and providing accurate and timely medical information to healthcare professionals and patients is of immense value. It's important because it ensures that healthcare professionals and patients have access to the latest and most effective treatments and therapies. By staying current with medical research and technology, medical information professionals can provide accurate and timely information to healthcare professionals and patients, which can help improve patient outcomes and ultimately save lives. Being knowledgeable about the latest advancements also helps to build credibility and trust with clients and stakeholders.

This can be especially important where medical information is needed to make critical decisions about patient care. Our work positively impacts patient outcomes and knowing that we are contributing to the health community is truly rewarding.

Building long-lasting relationships with clients and working closely with them encourages my continuous learning, leading to ongoing improvement of our knowledge and processes. Overall, it is a privilege to work with clients from the pharmaceutical industry as we get to contribute to better health outcomes for patients while being part of a dynamic and exciting industry.

What's your number one goal/focus right now?

My current focus in 2023 is to ensure success in building a strong and independent medical information service team in our new footprint, India and the Philippines. My role is providing direct training and support to these hubs for successful onboarding. Being remotely, it is critical for us to ensure that the training program does not compromise the quality standards of the medical information service industry. We are here to ensure that the medical information service team is providing the highest level of service to clients, healthcare professionals and patients. We are preparing the India and Philippines medical information service team to absorb more tasks, responsibilities and be ready for future business expansion with ProPharma. Besides initial training, it is also important to monitor the progress of the team and for me to provide ongoing support ensuring that they are successful in their roles.

Describe the biggest challenge facing our clients/industry today. How are we addressing this?

One of the biggest challenges facing pharmaceutical medical information services and providers today is the rapid pace of technological revolution and the need to keep up with emerging technologies in order to provide optimum service.

One way to address this challenge is to invest in technology and software that can help automate the process of gathering, analyzing, and disseminating large volumes of data in medical information. Another important strategy is to invest in staff training and development, ensuring that employees have the skills and knowledge needed to work effectively with emerging technologies and to provide high-quality, evidence-based information to healthcare providers and patients. This can involve providing ongoing training and development opportunities, as well as hiring staff with diverse backgrounds and skill sets in order to foster a culture of innovation and collaboration.

What is a current trend you're seeing in the industry and how does it impact our clients and patients?

The use of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) is a growing trend in the pharmaceutical industry and medical information services. These technologies can help analyze large amounts of clinical and medicinal data and improve the accuracy and efficiency of data approach.

These trends have significant impacts on clients, patients, and healthcare providers, particularly in terms of barrierless communication and ease of information access. Patient and healthcare providers can access medicinal information more easily and quickly. For the ones making informed decisions about health for their patients, technology can lead to better patient outcomes.
