Richard Thomas serves as an operating partner, advisor and board member to investment, technology and services organizations focussed on life sciences/healthcare.
A 30-year industry veteran, Richard has received numerous accolades including the #1 business technology innovator across the pharmaceutical industry (2011, 2012), the Scrip award for the best clinical technology innovation (2013), and multiple 'Best 100 Places to Work in IT' awards at technology groups he has led. In 2015 he was honored with the Triangle Business Journal lifetime achievement award. For over a decade Richard served as a key member of the leadership team and executive committee at Quintiles (now NYSE:IQV), which included its successful IPO in 2013 (NYSE:Q), and merger with IMS Health in 2016.
Richard currently serves on the boards of Pro Pharma Group, Bracket CRF, Thread Research and the North Carolina Museum of Life and Science where he chairs the Development Committee. He also serves on the advisory boards for Datavant and Vitaltrax.
Richard earned his Bachelor of Science with honors degree in Computer Science from the University of South Wales, and most recently won back to back North American championships racing prototype race cars 2016/2017.
